How to install Windows 11 with a USB on a device with Windows 11

The Windows 11 ISO file is 5.1GB large, so you’ll need enough space on your computer.

  1. Go to the Windows 11 ISO download website
  2. Underneath ‘Create Windows 11 installation media’ click Download now
  3. Once finished downloading, run the Media Creation Tool
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to download the ISO file.

Flash onto a USB Drive

Microsoft recommends Rufus for this process. The USB Drive must have >8GB of free storage

  1. Download and install the latest version of Rufus
  2. Plug in the USB Drive
  3. Go to ‘Device’ and choose the USB you will be using
  4. Under ‘File System’ select NTFS
  5. Under ‘Partition Scheme’ choose MBR
  6. Click ‘Select’ to the right of ‘Boot selection’ and select the ISO file that you downloaded.
  7. Select Start

How to install Windows 11 with a USB with a device with Windows 10

  1. Go to the Windows 11 ISO download website
  2. At the bottom of the page, choose the Windows 11 multi-edition ISO file and then click ‘Download’
  3. Once finished downloading, we can continue flashing it onto a USB drive

  1. Download and install the latest version of Rufus
  2. Plug in the USB Drive that has over 8GB of storage free
  3. Go to ‘Device’ and choose the USB you will use
  4. Under ‘File System’ select NTFS
  5. Under ‘Partition Scheme’ choose MBR
  6. Click ‘Select’ to the right of ‘Boot selection’ and select the ISO file that you downloaded.
  7. Click Start

The flashing process may take a long time depending on the speed of your USB drive.
