How to install Windows 11 with a USB on a device with Windows 11
The Windows 11 ISO file is 5.1GB large, so you’ll need enough space on your computer.
- Go to the Windows 11 ISO download website
- Underneath ‘Create Windows 11 installation media’ click Download now
- Once finished downloading, run the Media Creation Tool
- Follow the on-screen instructions to download the ISO file.
Flash onto a USB Drive
Microsoft recommends Rufus for this process. The USB Drive must have >8GB of free storage
- Download and install the latest version of Rufus
- Plug in the USB Drive
- Go to ‘Device’ and choose the USB you will be using
- Under ‘File System’ select NTFS
- Under ‘Partition Scheme’ choose MBR
- Click ‘Select’ to the right of ‘Boot selection’ and select the ISO file that you downloaded.
- Select Start
How to install Windows 11 with a USB with a device with Windows 10
- Go to the Windows 11 ISO download website
- At the bottom of the page, choose the Windows 11 multi-edition ISO file and then click ‘Download’
- Once finished downloading, we can continue flashing it onto a USB drive

- Download and install the latest version of Rufus
- Plug in the USB Drive that has over 8GB of storage free
- Go to ‘Device’ and choose the USB you will use
- Under ‘File System’ select NTFS
- Under ‘Partition Scheme’ choose MBR
- Click ‘Select’ to the right of ‘Boot selection’ and select the ISO file that you downloaded.
- Click Start
The flashing process may take a long time depending on the speed of your USB drive.
